Amanzi picked her way through the rubble and rocks that scattered the open field near the Ruins. Though they were a good half mile from the forlorn structure, it's bricks had managed to fall (or be dragged) into the meadow that separated Cascaro from her home. It was always a mystery to the Husky mix how they really got there, but she was no detective and had long ago reasoned that it must have been mother nature herself who'd moved the heavy stones. She glanced back behind her at the large figure who was following in her wake. Her best friend, Renier. He'd been missing for months and she'd managed to find him staying in the unlikeliest of places. A stable. Honestly dude you really don't think yeh deserve better? Zee thought, exasperated. No canine deserved to stay in that moldy wreck. She told him that he'd be staying at her cave no matter how hard he fought or desired otherwise. That way she could keep an eye on him (she'd noticed that he'd been rather more upset and downcast than usual) and she'd finally have some company in the next to empty den. "It's not too far, just over that hill and through the trees." She said happily. It had been almost a year since she was this happy. The fact of the matter was that she enjoyed his company, probably more than she should have, but enjoyed it none the less. A grin crept onto her face and she glanced back to glimpse him once more, attempting to figure out whether she was dreaming or not. She'd been so depressed the last few months, friendless and all, but now she had a reason to smile again. Her paws grew restless as she looked at all of the obstacles around the flowering clearing. Barking in joy the Husky mix leapt at the tallest one and clambered to the top. "I am queen of the hill!" She said triumphantly to the wind. "Bow before me, peasant!" She spoke in her best mock royalty, but couldn't keep herself from smiling despite the "seriousness" of her statement. Zee turned and leapt at another large boulder, but misjudged the distance and how smooth the rock face was and ended up falling off of it with a thump. "Dammit rock! I am a queen!" Her angry voice came up from the ground, her body was hidden within the bush that she'd fallen into. She managed to extract herself with a little difficulty, as her coat was long and fluffy and caught on every available branch. When the grey and white dog was finally standing atop the boulder like she'd wanted, she looked like she was caught outside in a windstorm. Leaves and twigs stuck out from almost every inch of her pelt. Still the grin sat on her face and she couldn't help but laugh despite her humiliation. "Speech."
