It had taken a lot out of Ceres to walk this far away from the place that she had called home. Perhaps, the want to be home had been driven away, and the need to be in solitude had taken it's place. The mutt had rarely ever wanted to be surrounded by solitude, but so many things had happened to drive her away from Kekoa. Calvin had disappeared without a trace, for others within the pack his disappearance did not seem odd. That fact was what scared Ceres the most. She had also failed to find Pallas after the storm, and images flashed through her mind of her sisters mangled body due to the hurricane. Ceres tried to clear her thoughts, opting to think that Pallas was simply evading her. Cascaro was a large city, and locating a single canine could prove rather difficult. She sighed deeply, weaving her way through the forest. The Merle did not know exactly where she was, nor did she know which direction would take her back to Kekoa. She was much too consumed by her thoughts to think about it.
A building came into her view, which broke her completely from her thoughts. Her blue eyes began to wildly look about in search of some landmark that would show her where exactly she was. Nothing indicated a place that she was familiar with, so began the build of her nervousness in her chest. She was alone, which was a blessing and a curse. She was worried that she would never find her way back to Kekoa by herself, but she was also worried about meeting someone with unsavory intentions. She began grinding her teeth together in a poor attempt to contain her nervousness. The forest ended abruptly with the ground ending going straight down. A building on the side of cliff was showing risks of falling over the edge. Ceres wished to look over the edge of the cliff, but her worrying heart kept her from doing so.
The Merle walked over to the front of the building, pressing her front paw against the beginning of the porch. She testing her weight against it, almost expecting it to fall over the edge of the cliff with the little bit of weight she put on it. During this experiment there was the crack of a twig in the distance. Her eyes filled with worry darted towards the area where the noise came from. Her ears pressed against her skull and her tail fell in between her legs.
"H-hello?" she called out, hoping that her question would be met with silence.
