He had left, but the time he had at the very least waited until she was awake before doing so. Fox had a debt to repay and it would not be paid if he slept in the woods every day and night with Dahlia, as much as he wanted to. Things would be different, eventually, at least he hoped so, but until then…this was how it had to be. He would leave to do his duties in the pack and then he would come and spend time with Dahlia for as long as she would put up with him. Of course, he took time to hunt before he returned, he couldn’t just show back up without a gift to please the female he courted, could he?
Hanging from his jaws was a sizable creature, though he wasn’t quite sure what exactly it was. He didn’t know that it was a badger, but it had put up a fight, perhaps more trouble than it was worth but having stumbled across it he couldn’t resist the challenge. Striding forward now with a slight limp, the small predator had taken a bite at his paw, he headed for their meeting spot, the campground. It seemed fitting that this was where they would meet and part ways, so many humans had came and gone here with their families and now, unknown to him- they would be doing the same.
Entering the clearing, the Rottweiler was nowhere to be seen, frowning he wondered if he had beaten her, but no, females were always early…or was it late? He shrugged slightly and strode through the campground until he was at the cabin where he sat on the porch. The small meal dropped to the wooden floor with a soft thud and he once more looked around, “Dahlia? Are you here?” He called, his tone soft but excited. He couldn’t wait to see her again, to see how she was doing, in his absence he had missed her terribly.
