Spring was here! The forest took on an entirely new look, one that excited the Husky mix. The birds were chirping and the chipmunks chattering and chasing each other. The air was heavy with pollen and the trees and bushes were in full bloom again. The forest screamed of growth and the animals reflected that with young creatures of their own. He’d seen does with newborn fawns, birds rushing about to feed chicks, there were babies everywhere.
Fox lay on the porch, head on his paws watching it all from his view at the cabin, but he did not partake in the rushed feeling of the forest. It excited him and had his muscles full of energy and his body full of desire, but he had only one dog on his mind and he could not find her. Truth be told, he had not really tried since Spring came along, he couldn’t. The Husky mix was feeling guilty, he had not learned to lie just yet and what sort of life could he offer Dahlia? Not a good one, even if she decided he was worth her time, he would only end up hurting her in the end.
Better to end it now. He thought with a snort, he wasn’t sure what he was ending, they had met only once. Yet…she had intrigued him, he found her fascinating in a way he had found no other female, she had flirted with him and for the first time in a long time, he had flirted back. Sighing he tried to push her out of his mind and instead focused on learning to lie. He had been promised that someone in Tempest could help him and yet, thus far no one had, he hadn’t lost faith in Tempest but he was growing impatient. He wanted to be able to protect those he cared about and he couldn’t do that while he couldn’t lie. He couldn’t protect Dahlia if he couldn’t lie. Growling softly he shut his eyes, hoping he could sleep it off, perhaps when he woke up things would be better. His mind wouldn’t let him sleep though, so instead he left his eyes shut giving the appearance of him sleeping.
