TELL ME DOCTOR HOW TO SHAKE
A WALKING NIGHTMARE THAT IS ONLY WORSE WHEN I AM AWAKE
A thin layer of snow had fallen across the land between Tine and the fighting ring. It was likely that if they didn't get this meeting over with that they would have to be venturing out in much worse conditions to get it done. Tine had to create more ties, before the newest gang in the area did. It was no secret that Brighid felt slightly threatened by their presence, especially since they had formed so close to the zoo. Clyde did not like the idea of the gang either, but they had seemed friendly from the times he had spoken with them. He would not be fooled into trusting them so easily, but he was pretty sure that unless provoked the two packs could live peacefully. He did not voice this opinion though, Clyde was simply a priomharalt, he did not have the authority to speak against Brighid against this matter. He lacked the leadership experience that Brighid possessed, and he trusted that she knew what she was doing.
This evening he was being accompanied by her son Angus. He had heard rumors that the boy was a bit disrespectful and hotheaded, but Clyde had, had no issues with that so far. Clyde wondered idly if Angus and Katell had known each other. Clyde had been mentoring Katell before her turn towards the darker side. She had orchestrated an attack on Lydia, something that he could fathom. He knew that Katell did not have a good relationship with her mother, but to do something so devious, was not something he could wrap his head around. The young Retriever had shown promise in the Aralt position, and he believed with a bit more training she would have filled it confidently. He had not spoken about Katell, nor had he spoken to her, they had been ordered to capture her if she was spotted again. There was no doubt that Brighid wanted to question the girl on the whereabouts of the husky. He sighed heavily, he did not feel up to the task of negotiating allies, but he had no choice. Time would not stop for his sorrows.
The sable colored Shepherd looked back towards the other brute who had similarities to Whiltierna, the other Aralt in Tine. He was darker than her, but the two of them were both predominately black. Clyde had not pushed Brighid about the details of her children, but standing there together the two brutes looked too similar for comfort. He averted his gaze, not wanting to think on the subject that was much harder to deal with than his thoughts on Katell. He found himself wishing that he could father the children that belonged to Brighid. His feelings for her were boundless, but his courage to tell her did not exist. He could not risk the home that he had established in the zoo over the feelings, and he did not want to make anything awkward for the girl that held his heart.
"Stay close, Angus," he said quietly. He walked into the building that housed the fighting ring. The shadows swallowed his form, the sun not quite reaching into the windowless structure. Not that there was much sunlight to be had, evening clouds were beginning to hide its glow, and night would take over Cascaro shortly. He walked downstairs assuming that Angus would be following. The fights had not started, they would not begin until ebony had taken over the sky. The rift raft of Cascaro would then file into the basement to cheer their night away over bloodshed. Clyde had to appreciate that the fighting had not started, he did not want to be tempted by such things. His eyes cast towards the empty ring and then around the room, hopefully catching the gaze of a high ranking ring official.
