The tapping of her claws against the concrete was the only thing that had heralded her approach. For her former comrades, she kept no schedule, would give them no level of organization to grasp for. They were kept in the dark both figuratively and literally, and it would not change for them. Tzafar had crafted Tempest with herself in mind, in a multitude of ways; she had once been the infiltrator, the spy, the guerrilla, the prisoner. She knew what she would use, and she would not provide it to them. The Commandant, no longer the Astrapi, strode tall through her domain. It was time to deal with the remnants of the Badai.
Tzafar slipped into the building, and made her way deeper. Her destination was down one of the halls. She was alone, until she approached the guard. The Kangal dipped her head and uttered a greeting, and a command, and the chair was removed from the door, and the door was opened. Only a sliver was needed for the large female, and the door was closed behind her. Scythes of light came in, from beneath the door, and a narrow slit of a window at the top of the wall. Just enough for the two to look at each other.
Khayri. She’d not known the female well personally, but she knew of her. She tended toward the quieter side, in contrast her her more volatile roots. Daughter of Lamora and Dash, sister to Renier, Velox, and Wolf. Everyone was gone, and here she was. Her cry at the invasion as her father left her to rot stayed with the Commandant. But it did not stay in her expression. Her pale brown eyes were cold, stony, as they lingered heavily upon the Mastiff mongrel before her. ”What happened, Khayri,” she uttered softly. It was a demand, rather than a question, but its inflection was not quite harsh. She waited for a willing comprehensive explanation, before she’d drag it from her jaws unwillingly.
