Summer was a miserable season, especially for those with fairly long fur. The sun sat high in the sky indicating that it was about noon, and probably the worst time to be walking about. This Summer hadn't been as unpleasant as previous ones that Cielo remembered, but the waves of heat did have her tongue lolling out of her mouth. She walked with her head down, her neck even with her back, with her breath heavy. Her destination was unplanned, she just felt the need to get away from the land of Kekoa. It wasn't one of her greater ideas, considering the heat. Since her return to Kekoa guilt littered her thoughts. She had left them when they needed her most. Before leaving Cascaro there had been tension between Kekoa and Legion, and she had left her pack instead of standing her ground and helping. Even though it was Kekoa that stood, and not Legion, she still felt the guilt of abandoning them deep in her heart. If Kekoa had not survived against them, she did not know what she would do.
Cielo approached a fence that stood way over her head, it was chain with barb wire laced within it and on the top in spiral. The fence at used to be silver was painted with rust, and it probably would fall in a few years. Cielo probably wouldn't live long enough to see the fence fall, age had started to gang up on the Border Collie mutt. Her hips had begun to sting with the beginnings of arthritis and although she did not know it yet, her eyes would be the next thing to start leaving her. For now, she was fairly healthy, despite her diet being sporadic. She was a hunter, but she was too kind to put her own meal before anyone, so she would not eat until she was certain everyone else was taken care of. After slipping underneath of the fence she shook, her tongue lolling out once again as she continued forward. The first thing she beheld was a watch tower that had fallen into the dirt. The gusty Maine winds had not been kind to it apparently, and without humans to do maintenance it fell. It was just another sign that the dogs had taken over Cascaro.
In hopes of finding shelter from the noon sun Cielo slipped into the entrance of the underground bunker. To her surprise she was met with stairs, this was her first time inside of such a place. She slowly followed the stairs downward and was met with the cool air of the underground. Cielo had been lucky, because this was exactly what she was looking for. At the bottom of the stairs was a hallway, a hallway that reminded her of a hospital. The tile was white and the walls mirrored them, the only thing that made it different were the remnants of muddy paw prints on the tile. The paw prints were old though, and halfway worn off, so she was not worried about meeting someone in the underground bunker, even though she should have been. Cielo slipped into the first room, and by the looks of it, it was an office. There was an old metal desk with a plethora of filing cabinets behind it. The tile from that room ran into this room as well, but there was a rug thrown on the floor underneath of the desk. The Collies dark eyes darted around briefly, she tried to determine whether she should rest underneath of the desk or continue down the hallway.
