((THIS IS LIQUID TIME. THIS WOULD BE AROUND TWO YEARS AGO I THINK? OR A YEAR?
Moose could feel the heat rushing to his maw as the damp blood that covered his lips began to dry, flaking off as he rolled his jaw in its socket and stared at what he had done. He thought that maybe he would feel something other than increased adrenaline and the desire to kill something else. But he didn't. Instead Moose looked her over with a cold gaze as it sank in that he had murdered her. He had rid himself of her. He was supposed to rejoice and relish in what he had done, but instead he felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, a loss of purpose.
A loss of what little innocence he had possessed yet. And now Moose was no better than her.
Maybe he was supposed to feel good. Maybe it hadn't sunk in yet. The shepherd mutt knew better than to hang around the area, though. The two had caused a scene and soon the police force would be sweeping the area. He had absolutely no desire to be arrested on charges of murder, even if he was not at fault. Kekoa would not exactly be merciful. They did not know the story. They were unbiased officers and Moose was a factionless loner with nothing to his name except his family. His family. His muscles tensed as he remembered Regina and Sangre. His mother and his sister deserved to see. They deserved to know. They deserved his apologies.
The cool night air felt crisp against his fur, occasionally ruffling at each strand and relieving a bit of the tension. He could feel sweat beading around his forehead and joints, but he kept tugging her limp body across the ghetto. Leaves crunched under his stiff, cracked pads and a trail of blood followed their tracks for some time. The time seemed to move like liquid, his gaze nervously switching from left to right. No one needed to know. No one could ever know, not now.
Moose let out a groan of despair as he finally dropped her body in front of the Warehouse. He wasn't sure if Regina was going to be there, but since they had abandoned everything they had known, she had frequented the area with Sangre close behind. Maybe they would take one look and run away. For whatever reason he desperately desired it. He did not deserve what little attention they had given him, especially after he had pushed them away so deliberately. Moose had ruined Sangre. He had pissed off Regina. Moose had every right to be pissed off at both of them, but he had stooped to their level.
