For What Price? [tempest request]

Woosh… crash.
The sound of the waves is almost serene. Was it not for the fact that he is here to request death, the beach would have been a perfect place to come and unwind from the day. Maybe go for a quick swim, maybe wash away some of the sins of the past, be baptized in the salty water off the coast of Maine. Truly that does not sound all that bad. The beach really is a docile and pleasant place, but there is nothing bit blood on his mind and because of this, he sees the would-be green water as red and the foam that bubbles up is a stomach-turning pink.
The sky grows dark, the sun setting quickly on the horizon opposite of the ocean, hidden behind the trees of Cascaro, but he pays the sun no mind. The mood is rising and the stars are beginning to blink awake, one by one, another beautiful, natural sight. Something that most would give anything to witness from the beaches of Maine, but he wants to rip the stars from the sky. If he could, he would leap up and snatch them all down, one by one, and crush them underneath his monstrous paws. Why did they deserve to flicker up above and be content and happy? Why would they deserve so much livelihood while the rest of the world is tortured? Perhaps it is envy. Perhaps he is jealous of their freedom.
Freedom.
That is why he is here. His daughters are trapped within the walls of Kekoa and have been since the hurricane and he wants them back. He wants them to come home to Wonderland where they belong, but he cannot do it alone. Oh, yes, he may be absolutely psychotic, but he is not moronic. There is a distinct difference. He will not go running head-first into enemy territory, into a place where he is so heavily wanted, and expect to make it out with his pups and himself entirely intact. Instead, he will enlist the help of others. He is not too proud to ask others for help, especially whenever it means that he will have back what is rightfully his and, oh the anger, at those little pups being taken away from him without so much as a fucking warning! Should things go his way, he will enter with this gang and be the first to reclaim his daughters and certainly not without breaking a few necks.
There are a few canines in particular that he would be more than willing to have a run-in with. To begin, Hexus, an old acquaintance.. that would be best because there are so many loose ends there and Hatter never really had the time to explain everything. Also.. Chamber. His old, dear friend from years ago. Yes, Hatter has been keeping a very close eye on the old Belgian Malinois, making sure to keep watch on where he goes and what he does. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult because his old friend does not seem to fall into a routine. A shame. But that makes the game all the more fun, does it not? Any excuse to get inside Kekoa to save his daughters and to make a meal out of a few police members pleases him more than it probably should. But, this is why he requested help.
Hatter requested this meeting a few days ago and is astonished at how quickly this leader is willing to meet up. He eyes the beach’s length, keeping a watch on anything that could hide a body. He does not know the appearance of the one he is meeting with, having been sure to lie low for a considerable amount of time after his attack on Kapish. Damn those dogs for letting her get away. Why must they interfere with such matters? It truly is none of their damn business after all. In any case, he has heard about Tempest from the little rat-faced snitch he has found lurking around the fortress. They are a rough group of mercenaries, willing to do almost any job for a price. But the question is: What is the price?
He walks along the water’s edge, leaving behind tracks that are quickly washed away by the frothing tide. The sky continues to darken as he reaches his destination on the beach and he grunts once, his head turning to look out to sea and his ears flicker as he listens. The breeze coming in is cool and relaxing, but he keeps himself from drifting off to an unknown place of calm and serenity. His eyes remain hard and his heart thunders in his chest and he keeps his anger ready for an assault. He is always ready to pounce, but that is not because of defensive training. Hatter cares little about the lives of his children and even less about his own life, but it is pride that keeps him going. It is pride that makes him so angry that his children were snatched up and out of the storm.
“Every. Last. One,” he promises to himself silently, knowing that he will do anything it takes to bring his girls home, especially his Alice. She is gone and his mind slowly slips into oblivion. He continues to pace for a moment, back and forth on the edge of the water before coming to an abrupt halt and he turns, his eyes looking out for the one named Tzafar.WORDS: 918.
