Niklaus didn't usually go looking for... Well, anyone. Not unless they were family, and that was not so much a want as it was just a way of life. Family was always the exception, he'd learned while growing up. The same logic could be applied to how he was feeling. Though he was surrounded by them he felt an inexplicable loneliness at their center and how the boy felt was one thing he couldn't share. Nor could he truly be honest with those beyond blood, but Niklaus found ways to alleviate it. Miraculously he'd procured several friends (though they might question that relationship) but he hadn't seen any recently. And when he got lonely, when it got quiet, he started to think too much-- see too much. That dead dog with crushed eyes but who had most imploring stare he'd ever seen.
Silas was nowhere to be found but Katell's residency could be relied on. Or so he thought. Once provided with a small tour of the zoo he was all the more confident about stepping foot into it, with no regard for those that occupied the land. Or maybe he was hoping they'd have a problem with it and that would lead to a confrontation, a fight.
The young Agilulfo's ego had inflated since the last time he'd trespassed on the gang's turf without consequence but new acquaintances, which led him to an less subtle approach. The snow was heavily falling as he trotted through the light blizzard, a broken layer of flakes along his back and across his muzzle that almost concealed the black of his coat that otherwise stood out harshly in the winter. His tail was curled over his back as he held his head arrogantly high, with the intention of entering the zoo through its main entrance and continuing through in search of his Retriever friend unless stopped.
