He moved quickly on his feet, propelled by the vague reference of a meeting. It was not his; but he would snatch a part of it, all the same. It was his obligation to see to the running of the police force, no matter how much it irked his superiors. They (or he) could do nothing to him, as long as he stayed within his official parameters, and never stepped beyond them. There was a surprising amount of room within, that others did not seem to see themselves. Such did he take on a dual reputation from either side he offended.
Alexander got there first. He gathered himself in a breath a few lengths from the place that Caymus ordinarily took his meetings, and waited only a few moments before the individual he sought began his approach. Having sat before, the golden officer stood at once, coolly, before his companion. He’d not gotten to speak with him much since his rescue. ”Thorne,” he greeted softly. No longer “sir”, the young officer did not find it difficult at all to forsake respectful salutation for a once superior. They were peers, now, and the respect afforded was a new variety, one that desired mutuality.
”I need to speak with you.” The coydog was clearly on his way somewhere; Alexander was lucky that he managed to catch him. And he acknowledged such, with his clarifying addendum. ”Before you speak with Caymus.”
There were several items on his agenda, all of varying degrees of importance. But, if they had not passed a certain threshold in his point of view, he would not have stopped Thorne in his path. The officer was, after all, one of the few individuals that got things done in the force, and it would be shameful to stop him in that process for something of little significance. His golden eyes lingered, intense, upon the rugged face of his fellow officer, ready to begin immediately.
