MY DEAR OLD FRIEND, TAKE ME FOR A SPIN
TWO WOLVES IN THE DARK, RUNNING IN THE WIND
Despite the cold air surrounding the area, the sun was shining down as it peeked between thick snow clouds, hitting off the blanket of snow and causing the ground to shimmer. It was so bright, it shone right into Clarice's eyes, causing her to squint as she made her way through the gardens. She hadn't been in Kekoa very long, but already she was settling in pretty well and was getting used to the regulations and protocols. The members were all interesting and friendly enough, and even though the pack had been infected with darkness and doubt recently, the shield of positivity put up by Atticus was enough to inspire all of them. It was really quite amazing.
It wasn't long until she found the lily pond, almost having to avert her gaze due to the shimmering light reflecting off the still water. For the first time in a few days it had stopped snowing, and Clarice was grateful for the slight warmth that had picked up due to the arrival of the sun. She padded over to the pond, standing underneath a snow-covered oak to provide a bit of shade. Leaning down to take a drink, it didn't take long for the stillness of the water to be disturbed: rings of ripples expanding from the light dips of her tongue. She took a moment to wonder if her father had ever come down here, into this beautiful secluded spot. She'd wondered that often since her joining of the pack, and while it left a slight ache in her heart, it also comforted her.
So far, she hadn't really made any close friends or companions since her acceptance. Everyone had just been so busy - not that she could blame them. She wasn't really one to seek out friendship, but if it came to her then she'd certainly enjoy it. She knew there was plenty of time to create new relationships, for she had joined the family for the long run. Kekoa was her home now, and she would remain loyal to it while providing her services to the best of her ability. The female's determination and pride wouldn't allow anything less.
She then finished her drink, raising her silver head and running her tongue along her dripping dark grey muzzle. She didn't really have any other plans, for it was quite a lazy day and she currently didn't have any work to do. The female shepherd couldn't help but curiously wonder who she would possibly meet today. Who else might come wandering into the cosy seclusion of the pond.
