The objective was clear from the get-go. Negotiate terms for the exchange of the prisoners, and make it in Tempest's favor. Simple enough, from what the Commandant had told her in the briefing. Tzafar had made it clear that although the end goal was to exchange the prisoners with the Kekoan Police force, they were by no means whatsoever doing a free service. She'd also briefed on the top priorities for the negotiation, letting Layla know exactly what needed to get done, and what she was expected to bring back to Tempest. Of course, most of the demands were not physical items, but rather intangible yet valuable rewards of a sort. She was clear on her objective, but for some odd reason she had mild apprehension rising up over her like a tidal wave on the rocky beach shore.
Outside the border of Kekoa, The Leonberger let out a sigh. This was not the first time she'd done business outside of Tempest territory, although one could hardly call the most recent venture business. The Invasion itself had prompted this visit, as Kekoa seemed interested in the former Badai members that Tempest had...collected during the invasion that abolished the Badai. The dogs who had been captured were Khayri, Dodger, and Syx. Only three of them, but that would be decent enough of a bargaining chip, or so she thought. Negotiations that she'd done in the past had mostly been with rogue, non city dwelling canines, or bears. The one with the bear was rather interesting, as it had consisted mainly of primal noises and misunderstood body language, and was a squabble over meat then. Nothing having to do with actual, living and breathing canines. Layla just hoped for all that she could that this negotiation of terms would be smooth, and she wouldn't mess it up.
Tzafar wasn't with her now, which was understandable, seeing that her wanted status was through the roof. Tempest was moderately new, and Layla could guess her face would not be easily recognized. That and the trust Layla believed Tzafar had in her were what she embraced the assignment based on. She could only hope that this would give her an edge, and possibly make her more known among the dogs of Cascaro, for something other than "Layla of the Jungle" or the "Wild Mountain Dog."
She looked ahead at the border of Kekoa, the prison therein, letting the pungent scent of the foreign territory just touch her nose. She didn't particularly enjoy the scent of other packs, but she really wasn't one to talk. For all of the crap she'd give about other packs' scents, Tempest's certainly wasn't enjoyable to outsiders. In Layla's opinion, it smelled like Seaweed, with hints of pine and wet dog. Not exactly Eau de Fleur, but to her it didn't smell too bad. Then again, she did sort of live in it.
Layla let out a howl to announce her presence, making sure to avoid stepping into the territory uninvited and unannounced.
" I am seeking a Kekoan member to escort me to the Prison. I have Business to see to with your leader.""speech"
