Being around a bored Jordan was always fun. Well, fun if you liked getting into trouble, that is. Though he was never got into any serious trouble, just harmless stuff really. But he was bored. His father had left to go hunt and his sister was asleep. She had never been full of energy anyway, but their mother's disappearance didn't help. Whenever their father was around, she would stick close to him, not wanting him to be out of their sight for a moment. But when he was off hunting or whatever he did, she slept or stuck close to her brother. Not that he minded anyway. He was the oldest son (and the single surviving son of the litter), and it was his job to look after his sibling. It was just the two of them now that Remi and Laluzi were gone, and God forbid anything should happen to his sister. He did not want to see the look on his father's face should that ever happen.
But he was bored and wanted something to do. So he left his sister sleeping on one of the seats in the back of the abandoned train car, convinced that she would be okay. And it wasn't like he was going far. He was still going to be in the area. He wasn't stupid enough to actually leave his sister alone for more than an hour. Then again, there was that one time when he traveled to the forest, but no one had to know about that. It was his secret, and his alone. Though his father didn’t exactly care if he explored the area, he was just expected to be back home before nightfall. That didn’t mean that he was eager for his father to know just how long he had been gone that day. The boy was grateful that his sister hadn’t mentioned how long he had been gone. He could at least trust her to keep his secrets.
He trotted away from the car, a grin on his face. He didn’t know exactly what he was going to do, but that didn’t bother him. He was more a of devil-may-care, just go with the flow kind of dog. Why worry about what would happen? That didn't mean that he would willingly go into danger. He wasn't that stupid, didn't have a death wish. He was willing to leave that to others. Let them wander into danger. Hyper he may be at times, but an idiot he wasn't. He stopped at the edge of the forest that lined the rails, wondering if today would be a good time to venture into there. He usually went in the opposite direction, to the south. But he was curious about what lay to the north. Maybe another adventure was waiting out there for him. But he still hesitated to take a step forward. If Remi was here, he would've made his brother go first, just to make sure it was safe. But his brother was dead, and there was no one for him to order around. Taking a deep breath, he took a step forward slowly, as if the ground was going to eat him up the second he moved. But the ground did not, much to his delight. He jumped into the air, the grin returning to his face.
